Hi Geoff, lots of good memories of our time together under the flag of the Arctic panda, including Midsummer barbecues on an Oslofjord island, broken oars in the Swedish Eastern archipelago, and snow-ball fights at Alaska’s Hatcher Pass … And then the memories of “working the GAP” together – what a rollercoaster it has been. I am sad to see you leave; it just won’t be the same without you; even though we rarely worked out of the same room I felt we really worked together at all times. And that felt good and carried me through difficult moments.
Nevertheless: forward is the way, life is change and you got to live it! So here come all my best wishes for Montana – I am sure our paths will cross again!
Top three things I’ll miss about you Geoff:
1. Your calm ways of contributing to discourse – even when excitement would have been appropriate, too.
2. A kindred spirit in working the science-to-policy way of progressing conservation.
3. A colleague to share stories about times in Alaska and mutual friends there.
Martin
