I have great memories from the GAP retreat in Russia during Fall 2013. The night in Moscow when we drank some of these flaming Sambuca with the Russian recipe and protocol explanation. I still don’t remember the walk to go back to the hotel! Despite whatever Clive says, he does not remember either. The evening in the banja at the reserve we spent just talking and drinking the mysterious fruity homemade liquor of Vladimir was great. We had beautiful banja hats, fashion portraiture enclosed.
What I will greatly miss are our daily discussions about sport, beers, economy, politics and indeed conservation in the Arctic. I learnt so much from your analytical skills and your in-depth knowledge of the region and its biodiversity. It was great to hear about the stories of your many trips around the world.
